I have planted the purple sprouting broccoli - thanks to a friend of Jo's mum. Tom, the next allotment holder has kindly lent me some cloches which should protect them from the Bedgrove Pigeon (a particularly greedy variety of pigeon according to my knowledgeable allotmentee)
